For all of known history, the religious life on this planet has been dominated by the image that God is an exclusively male figure, often portrayed as an all-mighty father figure in a remote heaven. Sometimes even portrayed as an angry and judgmental God who watches your every move and is ready to punish you harshly for any transgression.

Is it possible that this image of God was deliberately created in order to control humankind by causing us to feel passive and thus deny our creative potential? Is it possible that this is the time to challenge that image and realize that God has both a masculine and feminine side and that we cannot understand God, life or ourselves without knowing the relationship between both?
